Department of psychology Govt Degree College Kargil has organized and celebrated “World Mental Health Day”-2021 on 8 th of October in collaboration with Mental Health Wing District Hospital at Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall Kargil. A rally of students on mental health awareness has marched from govt degree college kargil to the above said venue, holding posters and slogans on mental health issues. Students chanted slogans regarding mental health issues and mental health awareness during rally marching towards the auditorium hall. More than two hundred students have participated in the rally. The rally was supervised by Miss Lamo and Mr. sajjad Hussain assistant professor political science. Chairman and chief executive councilor of Ladakh autonomous hill development council kargil Mr. feroze Ahmad Khan graced the occasion as a chief guest along with Mr. mohsin executive councilor of health department as guest of honor and Mr. Mutup additional deputy commissioner attended the event as a special guest on behalf of deputy commissioner kargil. Further, esteemed guest Mr. Imteaaz Kacho registrar University of Ladakh, Miss Kaneez Fatima director kargil campus University of Ladakh, Dr. Amina Qari principal govt degree college kargil and chief medical officer Mr. Munawar hussain wazir grace the event with their presence.
Dr. Fatima Nissa coordinator of mental health wing district hospital gave a warm welcome to all esteemed guest in her welcome speech. Numerous programs related to world mental health day’s theme-2021 has been organized and performed by the students of degree college kargil. The RANTHAQ group of drama also participated and performed an informative skit related to mental health issue. Power point presentation by the clinical psychologist from district hospital as well as by the students GDC kargil has been presented to unfold the mental health issues and stigma among the people especially amid young generation and parents. Followed by the program outline the chief guest of occasion Mr. Feroze Ahmad Khan , guest of honor Mr. Mohsin, special guest Additional Deputy Commissioner and principal GDC kargil share their valuable thoughts regarding the polarization of human rights due to the stigma and shame of mental health issues. Finally chief medical officer Dr. munawar hussain wazir presented vote of thanks to all the admirable guest and concluded the event in affirmative manner.
Followed by the end of the program, the refreshment has been served among students and high tea for esteemed guest has been arranged by the organizers.

The whole program was coordinated and organized by Dr. Syed Ali Shah assistant professor psychology & Dr. Fatima Nissa coordinator mental health wing district hospital along with members Dr. Javed Iqbal assistant professor zoology, Mr. sajjad Hussain assistant professor EVS, Dr. imtiyaz Hussain assistant professor botany, Mr. Zakir Hussain clinical psychologist and Syed Hassan Shah research scholar.
