Government Degree College Drass, Department of Tourism and Travel Management (TTM), under the supervision of Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal GDC Drass organized a special session for the students of tourism and travel management (TTM) about the topic “Rethinking Tourism” (The Theme to Celebrate World Tourism Day Worldwide on 27th September 2022) by Dr. Jahangir Ahmad Malik (Asst. Prof. TTM) Govt. Degree College Drass. The session was started by the welcome note by Dr. Talib Hussain (Asst. Prof. Zoology). Speaking on the session the speaker overview the predefined theme of World Tourism Day and its relevance to tourism and hospitality sector in Drass region. The speaker instilled the thoughts of students that tourism has been the sector hit hardest by the crisis (Covid-19), as well as all the people and the livelihoods that depends on it. The speaker emphasized that local people and stakeholders in Ladakh should not lose their hope. There is no need to feel insecure and doubt their association with the tourism and hospitality sectors. The future will offer many opportunities to all of us. After the lecture, the students of TTM interacted with the speaker and asked several questions to which the speaker responded optimistically. At the last Dr. Mohd Ashraf Wani (Astt. Prof. History) GDC Drass presented the vote of thanks to the guest speaker.
