Govt. Degree College Drass was established in the year 2018 with a mission of spreading knowledge in this picturesque trans-Himalayan hamlet. We are truly indebted to the UT Ladakh administration, people of Drass, who generously offered an area of 1209 kanals & 16 marlas of land for the construction of the college, thereby, making our college the largest one in the UT Ladakh. At present, the college is functional from the Higher Secondary School, main bazar, Drass which will eventually shift to its main campus at a distance of 1.5 kms from the main market; where the construction is in full swing. Around 300 students from different backgrounds are enrolled in various streams at the college. The college at present can be proud of its academic discipline, smart classrooms, young and vibrant teaching staff, sports facilities, transport for students at a nominal rate. With compliance to the New Education Policy (NEP) GDC Drass aims to become one of the leading educational institutions in the UT Ladakh equipped with modern infrastructure, digital library, starting new skilled based vocational & certificates courses, at par laboratories, residential facilities for both staff and students, palatial playgrounds with ultra-modern sports equipment, student exchange initiatives, MoU’s with reputed Universities & colleges. We at GDC Drass work with the motto of opportunity in adversity.
